Bihar

For those who don’t know, BIHAR is a state in East India, bordering Nepal. You must be wondering that why am I talking about it? Am I dumb? Everyone knows this. Yes, you are right. Everyone knows this. According to some report Bihar is one of the poor, most under-developed and lawless state of India. I am not here to talk on any of these topics. There are already many reels and articles out proving this stereotype wrong. I here to talk about something else. Basically, the language and the general thought of people in Bihar is my topic for the day.
Lately, I came across this video a lot on YouTube-“ what you think about people of Bihar or Biharis.” The public in these videos are generally from Delhi. No offence to anyone or any particular state. Just stating a fact. The responses we get from these people are generally negative. They basically talk about language, culture and lifestyle. One of the most common responses is that their language is not good or they always go for government job. Why?
Let me tell you why we go for government job. See when you are in Bihar and to live here happily without any problem you should have a government job or have some connections. For Biharis, government job is a safe option. Bihar is one of the most unpredictable states. That’s why people in Bihar prefer government job and also government job is one of the most respectful jobs in India. And don’t forget that maximum IAS and IPS officers are groomed on the land of Bihar.
By any chance if you don’t know then let me tell you that the language of Bihar is considered one of the sweetest languages and there is no language called Bihari in Bihar. Bihar is very diverse when it comes to culture. Here many languages are spoken in different parts of Bihar. Bhojpuri is the most common in them but still every part of Bihar has it’s own essence of Bhojpuri. The best thing about the language of Bihar is the word “HUM”. No matter what language we are speaking at home but when we speak Hindi, we always address ourself as ‘HUM” instead of “MAI”. This is the sweetness that lies in our language and maybe some of the Biharis aren't that fluent with English but that's not true for everybody. We are increasing the bars where we would no longer stand under it and keep raising. Go in any institute you will find most of the student from Bihar and still you call us uneducated.
When we talk about love. We always talk about Romeo and Juliet, Heer- Ranja, and the list goes on. Have you ever heard the name Dashrath Manjhi. He is also known by the name 'the mountain man'. Bollywood has even made a movie on him but obviously many of you have not watched it. Many reasons are there thst why many you of haven't watched or heard about the movie but I will not talk about that. Basically, Manjhi had cut the mountain and build a road just because his wife died while crossing the mountain. Actually, that’s the love we should idolize about. I assume you all know the story of Ramayana. If you know this story then you all must know Mata Sita. She is also from Bihar and I can bet many of you didn’t know this. She is from Mithila which comes in Bihar and is near Nepal border. Even you know one of the most important movements of India’s independence started from Bihar. If you don’t know then let me tell you I am talking about Satyagraha. Even Mahatma Gandhi mentions Bihar as one of most important part and as a turning point in his life.
Before judging Bihar and Bihari for their accent first look around yourself. You will see many Biharis at very good position whether it’s government job or top qualifications. Never forget many great personalities like KATULYA, ASHOKA: THE GREAT, ARYABHATTA whom you follow are from Bihar. Even the first president of independent India was also from BIHAR. You all now India’s history is very diverse and play a very important role in the history of the world or Asia. Likewise, Bihar’s history is also very diverse and plays a very important part in Indian history. So, before judging Bihar or any Bihari think twice.
Let me end here or I will just keep on writing till the end of the time. I will end this with one the most famous yet contradictory statement about Bihar that “ Most of the IAS and IPS officers comes from Bihar and Biharis are amazing in Math. It’s true but not every Bihari gives UPSC and are good in Math. Just stop this assumption that if you are a Bihari then you will give UPSC. Thank you.
